Ice Experiments (part of our 'keeping warm' study)
We were trying to stop heat from flowing from where it's hot to where its not.
We made 'walrus mits' by putting margarine in a bag.
The fat would hopefully keep our hands from freezing in the ice-water.
The walrus mit kept my hands warmer than the empty bag because the margarine had fat in it - Robbie
We made 'polar bear blankets' by stuffing cotton wool into bags.
Then a freeze pack was put on our hands to test it.
We found out that the polar bear blanket was warmer than the walrus mit - Ben
The bag of ice was FREEZING! The polar bear blanket was warm - Nina
